Since 1990, the League of Women Voters of the United States has held that the proliferation of handguns and semi-automatic assault weapons in the United States is a major health and safety threat to its citizens.
As an organization, we’ve advocated protecting the health and safety of citizens through limiting the accessibility and regulating the ownership of handguns and semi-automatic weapons.
Learn about this and the other nuances of the position from Jim McGrath, League of Women Voters of Illinois Gun Violence Issues Specialist. Jim will also discuss the bills that were proposed in Springfield this last spring and the two that were passed.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
