If you requested a Vote by Mail ballot, election officials will be mailing them in the coming weeks. Of course, you can mail them back, but did you know that you can drop them at a secure dropbox in the county you’re registered in? Hint: if you’re in Kane County, the City of Elgin building is a dropbox location. The Tribune is updating a handy map of all the locations, so you can see where to go if you live in Cook County or DuPage County! (Be careful though and only drop it in the county on your ballot!)

? Election Workers Needed! Election Judges/Polling place technicians are essential for ensuring voter access! Each election authority has specific requirements and duties for judges and technicians, all election authorities need workers. This year, students 16 years of age or older are eligible to be poll workers. Check requirements with your local election authority at the link. Typical duties include: ● Opening the polling place at 6 a.m. sharp and closing it at 7 p.m. ● Setting up election equipment ● Verifying voter qualifications ● Operating voting equipment ● Processing and transmitting votes when polls close ● Certifying vote totals
