Return to Candidate List
NAME: Kurt Robert Kojzarek
POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:
Kane County Board District (19)
1. Why are you seeking this position?
In order to to continue to serve the people of our community with a sound voice of reason as an alternative to the divisiveness of politics. The Daily Herald referred to me as a “calming voice” in my last endorsement. We need this type of leadership philosophy now more than ever to bring people together.
2. What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
Over the last 6 years I have faithfully served our community in this position and have earned the respect of my colleagues by finding common ground among differing views. Through this we have delivered a flat and balanced budget each year while paying down the inherited debt by 73% while fully funding our pension liability. We have been able to create jobs through improvements to our transportation infrastructure, while embracing conservation and environmental principles. My experience in business management and long range planning have been vital to these efforts and uniquely qualify me for re-election.
3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?
The County continues to work towards a balanced and flat budget as the State of Illinois continues to place additional burdens on us while at the same time stripping us of funding collected on our behalf. This reduces available funds needed by us to not only provide mandated services but to fairly compensate our employees. We must continue to find non-tax dollar revenue to balance the budget without increasing the tax burden on our residents or decreasing the quality of services provided.
Will you attend the 10/4 Elgin Candidate Forum? Yes, I will attend the forum
