Kane County Board District (9)
1. Why are you seeking this position?
As a resident of Hampshire for over thirty years, I have a passion and desire to serve and improve the communities of the 9th District. I raised my children here and they all graduated from Hampshire High School. My husband and I have a small business and we are involved in many activities and organizations. I have seen the needs of our towns in our district and heard concerns of our citizens and I want to serve them and have their voices heard on the county board.
2. What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
I served as an elected trustee on the Hampshire Fire Protection District for twelve years, where I learned about the processes of government. I am familiar with tax levies, budget issues and have attended numerous board meetings. I have the exuberance and the communication skills needed to serve the increasing needs and concerns of our citizens. As a precinct committeeman for over ten years, I have brought the concerns of our constituents to the ears of our elected governmental officials. I am currently the secretary for the Kane County Republican Central Committee which allows me frequent contact with many elected officials. I have the energy and time needed to work hard for our district.
3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?
The greatest challenges for our district include improving county services while keeping the tax levy frozen, bringing in businesses and providing incentives necessary to do so.
