Name: Dennis Ernest

Position for which you are a candidate: Village of Carpentersville Trustee

Why are you seeking this position?

I’m 100% independent and feel like I could make a difference in my community if elected. I would be the youngest Trustee and I think our village would benefit from having a more diverse board.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I worked as a regional division manager for a kitchen and bath company. I have my degree in Engineering. For the last 30 years I have worked in the private sector where I started as a union plumber and over the course of several years transitioned into a role as a carpenter and currently employed by a nationwide retailer.

What will be your highest priorities if elected?

My highest priority will be to keep taxes low. Second, would be transparency, people should know where their tax dollars are being spent. Third, to create a better Carpentersville where all families want to grow up, by attracting new family friendly businesses and restaurants. I would like to see if part of the old Spring Hill Mall corridor could be developed into an entertainment area with restaurants alongside the current movie theater.

I will participate in the candidate meet & greet:
