Name: Anna Moeller

Position for which you are a candidate: Illinois Representative District 43

Why are you seeking this position?

I love this community and I want to continue serving the people of the 43rd District in Springfield. Together, we’ve been successful in delivering for our district and I will continue to address the issues that are top of mind for our constituents including the high cost of living, education funding, increasing prosperity and public safety.

To address these, I have taken a proactive approach by sponsoring legislation that directly impacts residents’ daily lives. For example, I sponsored the Healthcare Protection Act, which reduces healthcare costs, regulates the insurance industry and ensures access to vital health services. I also supported the elimination of the state grocery tax, helping to ease the financial burden on families.

Education is another key priority. I worked to increase education funding at the state level and helped secure $25 million in funding for the Manufacturing and Technology Center at ECC, which prepares our workforce for high-demand jobs and promotes economic development.

Public safety is also critical to the district’s well-being. That’s why I’ve supported funding for public safety initiatives, ensuring that our law enforcement agencies have the resources they need to keep our communities safe.

These results address problem areas in my district, but we have more work we can do. I will continue addressing these interconnected issues—cost of living, education, economic development, and public safety. I am committed to creating a better quality of life for everyone in the district and ensuring a prosperous future for all.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I have the skills and character, a proven commitment to our community and track record of impactful leadership as State Representative.

I have consistently worked to make state government more accountable and have passed major reforms that improve people’s lives. Among my notable achievements is passing landmark nursing home reform and passing balanced budgets that provides inflation relief, invests in education, human services, and public safety, while also tackling state debt and establishing a rainy-day fund to secure Illinois’ financial future.

I have been a strong advocate for healthcare, sponsoring the Healthcare Reform Act, which bans insurance companies from denying access to vital medical services.

Additionally, I have been a tireless defender of women’s reproductive rights, helping make Illinois a 100% pro-choice state.

What will be your highest priorities if elected?

Running for re-election, I remain dedicated to increasing access to affordable and comprehensive healthcare, preventing violent gun offenses, ensuring neighborhood schools have the resources to thrive, protecting the environment, addressing the affordable housing crisis and providing continued support for families and small businesses.

I am running for re-election to continue working to maintain and build upon the progress that Illinois has made in improving the quality of life of the people I serve.
