Why are you seeking this position?
I am seeking the position of the Village of East Dundee Trustee as a women, mom, wife and small business owner of the community. I believe that strong leadership is what East Dundee needs and I’m seeking this position to be a part of the decision-making process for not only the town but also the people of the community. As a resident of the community, I want to be able to be a part of the decisions that are being made. I am also seeking this position to increase and continue my interaction with the community and community events. I am running because I am deeply committed to East Dundee and want to help influence the community’s direction. I want to be able to service all of the residents of the community to help establish shared visions for the future, develop goals, and initiatives to make the future of East Dundee even brighter.
What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
The experience and background that I have which qualifies me for the position are, I am a 7-year resident of East Dundee. My husband and I have invested in our home to bring it back to life to capture the charm of the town. My daughter is enrolled at Immanuel and as a parent of the community I see how decisions made can impact not only our home but also the school. As a small business owner, I recognize the importance of supporting small and local businesses. I recognize first-hand how a decision can impact the community and have experienced it myself. I have the ability to navigate uphill struggles and can handle leadership differences in ways to help move the agenda forward. I hold skills such as open mindedness, a good listener, strong critical thinker, and make decisions based on research, education, and logic. I am able to balance competing interests of and work well with others, being able to communicate effectively to a team.
What will be your highest priorities if elected?
My highest priorities if elected is to first and foremost, be a voice for the people of the community. I believe that change and effective decision making comes from working together and listening to what the residents of the community have to say. Another priority is, keeping the charm of the town intact. This comes with continued community and economic development. I want to be a sounding board for the people of the community and stay focused on the future and the common good.
