Position for which you are a candidate: School District U-300 Board
Why are you seeking this position?
I am a parent of 2 students in the district, a community volunteer, a school volunteer, nurse at community hospital. I like to be active in my community in multiple ways. Not only is being on the school board giving back to the community but I will have a chance to further our district’s success.
What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
I have attended many of the last 18 months of D300 school board meetings. I am on the D300 Parent Advisory Council.
Having an 8 and 12 year old as students in the district offers me great experience as a parent. I am also a graduate of public schools through my K-12 and ECC. I have my BSN from Olivet Nazarene University.
As an RN for the last 18 years, I have substantial experience in collaborating, delegating and critical thinking. I am on major committees at my workplace. One of the most successful committee achievements was getting our hospital Magnet recognition (high honors in nursing) during Covid.
What will be your highest priorities if elected?
