Position for which you are a candidate: City of Elgin Mayor

 

Why are you seeking this position?

Elgin is on a path that has been beneficial to a majority of the residents and businesses the past 12 years. I want to keep us on that path moving forward. i

I have a vision that includes increasing partnerships to help keep taxes as low as possible, improving services, balanced growth and decreasing the debt burden.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I have over 50 years of public service that includes my professional career, president of a resident’s association, planning commission member, city council member and mayor. I have had leadership roles in a number of organizations.

What will be your highest priorities if elected?

The number one priority for any mayor is to make sure all residents are safe. Our Police and fire departments should be fully staffed and equipped with the most up to date tools to do their job. Elgin residents must be sure they have a safe and plentiful water supply. Elgin’s streets and railroad crossings must be the safest possible. I will work to make sure Elgin’s residents have a high quality of life and are safe.
