Name: JEFF BODIN
Position for which you are a candidate: Kane County Sheriff
Why are you seeking this position?
I believe there I believe the current administrations minimum amount of 6 readily available deputies on patrol is unsafe for an unincorporated population of 65,000 residents. When elected Sheriff I will implement ten hour shifts which will allow a minimum of 10 deputies and there will be 18-22 deputies on school days between 2-4pm. I also believe in better school safety for Kane County residents by having trained auxiliary deputies or retired police officers in all schools in Kane County and when elected I will work to make that happen. The current administration is also big on political favors that I do not agree with. I have been in communication with “Just of Dupage” to bring their organization into the Kane County Jail at no cost to the taxpayer. Just of Dupage is an organization that helps inmates with mental health, drug rehabilitation and finding work once released.
What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
Fifteen years sworn Deputy on the street. My administration of 4 has over 100 years of combined experience.
What will be your highest priorities if elected?
School safety, community safety, and ending political favors in law enforcement.
