Name: Richard Ahrens

Position for which you are a candidate: Dundee Township Trustee

Why are you seeking this position?

I have always had an interest in local politics, but the demand of my career as a Public Works Superintendent always prevented me from being involved. After my retirement I felt the need to continue serving the public.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I have 40 years experience in municipalities. I thought I could share this knowledge with the Township. I feel I have also gained considerable more knowledge on the workings of the Township in my first term as Trustee, and would like to continue to represent the taxpayers.

What will be your highest priorities if elected?

The Township has had a challenge in the past working with a balanced budget. The increasing responsibilities and expansion of current programs are further increasing the difficulties of this. With my dedication to achieving this goal I feel like we, as a board, can come together and run within our means.
