Name: Patricia ‘Trish’ Glees

Position for which you are a candidate: Dundee Township Supervisor

Why are you seeking this position?

I’m running for re-election of Dundee Township Supervisor, because I’m committed to serving all the residents of Dundee Township. I believe in the continued development of Open Space programs, and I will ensure the protection of general and emergency assistance and Ride in Kane programs. I’m looking forward to the continued undertaking of the 708 Mental Health Board, which will be serving Township residents. I believe NO senior resident, family or individual should go hungry or must determine what bill to pay or whether they can afford medicine. I will continue to serve those who cannot serve themselves with the volunteers and donations via the Dundee Township Cares Food Pantry and programs.

I also believe negotiating an intergovernmental agreement between the Township and Highway Commissioner will not only save tax dollars, but will provide cross training for all Township employees, providing the Township residents with best-in-class services.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

Since taking office in 2017 I have accomplished the following:

  • As Dundee Township Supervisor, I was instrumental in Dundee Township receiving $1.5 million dollars by working with our Illinois State Legislators to receive a portion of Governor Pritzker’s Capital Development monies for local governments.
  • With the support of the Dundee Township Board of Trustees, we have partnered with CAMBr to create 3 bike trails in Raceway Woods that extend from the Dundee Township Huntley Parking area to the Kane County CAMBr trails.
  • I, modernized the Dundee Township website, created an active presence on social media and distribute monthly e-newsletter.
  • I, along with the current Board of Trustees, have extended our Open Space properties by 120 acres.
  • I have listened to the residents provided programs and services that residents want. Those programs have included a food pantry that provides nourishing food, a place to safely discard expired or unused medicines, setup a clothing closet. I’m a member Kane County & RTA Advisory boards to ensure that in our rural-urban Township we have public transportation services.
  • I have 31 years of business and management experience at various levels. I own a technology company, I have weathered good and bad times in a fiscally responsible manner. I maintain several certificates, important to this position: a Project Management Professional and Certified IS Auditor.

What will be your highest priorities if elected?

1.Continue to protect the Township’s Open Space properties

2.Continue to develop the Open Space Program as an important part of our community.

3.The continued support of General & Emergency Assistance Programs and the 708 Mental Health Board.

4.Continue the Dundee Township Cares programs with more volunteer activism providing ease of care services for those in need.

5.Ensure that the Ride in Kane Program has proper funding and work with PACE and RTA to ensure that transportation service is available for ALL in the Township.  Communities with transit opportunities are more resilient in the face of economic and health stresses. Local businesses benefit from having our residents shop and connect with them.  Ride in Kane is a lifeline for senior residents who do not have personal transportation.

6.Support an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to increase cooperation between the Road and Bridge District and the Township.

7.Continue to update the website, social media, & newsletter.
