POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

Gilberts Trustee

Why are you seeking this position?

I hope to be elected trustee to gain a better insight and clarity into the decision making of the board. I have been attending meetings regularly for the past 5 years and often question whether some board decisions exemplify proper policy in the best interests of the village. Many times there is no questioning or discussion on impactful agenda items that seem obvious. It’s been mentioned that many times trustees talk amongst themselves albeit within the parameters of the open meetings act. By serving on this board I would have the opportunity to research, educate, and ask the obvious questions , on record to assure my neighbors I got their back.

What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

The construction field has been my livelihood my entire life. My career was split between union and non-union shops. I have built hundreds of homes, Pulte,Sundance,Centax etc. to multi-million dollar mansions. I have worked on many schools. Hampshire H.S., Genoa H.S .and Gilberts Elementary to name a few. I have done a lot of restaurant work. Dunkin Donuts, Arby’s, Taco Bell, The Village Squire and Nicks Pizza. During the course of my career I have worked with not just carpenters but engineers, architects, plumbers, electricians, project managers, school officials and developers. I have labored, led crews, estimated, and speculated. I am a past trustee of the fraternal order of eagles. I look forward to serving the village.

What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

My biggest challenge will be bringing credibility and accountability back to the board and meetings. In the course of this campaign I have talked to many residents who expressed apathy and futility and why not. A two year deadline set by this board to the developer of the “Conservancy” to complete the much needed road improvements to Freeman Rd. came and went Jan. 31st. while the board moves forward with his personal agenda. Gaining the trust and confidence of the residents will be my number 1 priority.

Will you attend the March 13th Gilberts Candidate Forum? Yes, I will attend the forum
