Why are you seeking this position?
To make a difference as a qualified professional having core values in making a positive difference in this world by serving others. I would like to help students understand the value of education and help them achieve their higher education goals. I would like to help students get the right jobs through the skills they have gained by being at the Community College and exposing them to various professional opportunities. I would like to guide and coach the students to help themselves attain their goals in life and become successful citizens giving back to the community at large.
What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
With a double Masters in Information Systems Management and Insurance & Risk Management and a Bachelors in Education, I understand how education helps you professionally and personally. I have over 20 years of IT Quality auditing experience in various industries. I am also an adjunct professor at Illinois Institute of Technology for over 5 years. The combined experience prepares me for today’s education and workforce needs and challenges. Additionally, I have extensive volunteer experience and served on the board of various community service organizations such as: Village of Streamwood – Community Relations Commission; YMCA; Domestic Violence shelter; General Assembly Scholarship; WorknetNCC; MAAP (OCA); and Local Woman’s Club.
What will be your greatest challenge if elected?
How to get started right away in making a positive impact. I love to help and serve, so knowing the priorities will help guide our team in achieving results as soon as possible. I would like to bring my areas of expertise and help wherever I can to ensure a positive impact on the ECC Board and the college as a whole (Students, Faculty and the Administration).
