Kane County Clerk
1. Why are you seeking this position?
Kane County deserves to have elected officials who have the passion to truly serve our community. I am a young, ambitious, native of Kane County who has the drive and the ability to do just that. I care very deeply about my home and the community that has provided my family and me with so many great opportunities. I truly believe, on a fundamental level, that we, as citizens of this great nation, have the power to create a government that works for all of us. Local government has the greatest impact on our lives, and it is up to us as citizens of Kane County to elect local leaders. Dedicated leaders like myself, who will represent our needs and will work tirelessly for the betterment of our community.
2. What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
As a Quality Assurance Specialist, I am responsible for the creative ideation and implementation of documented policies and procedures that are specifically geared toward food safety and quality assurance for daily operation. It is my responsibility to have a deep, functional understanding of our product, industry, state and federal regulations in order to deliver a safe, high quality product to our customers. This translates directly to the clerkâs office, where highly sensitive documents and records must be kept for the citizens of our county. We need a detail-oriented clerk that will guarantee accurate services and maintenance of vital records as well as having the mental acuity to ensure accurate, efficient, and cost effective elections
3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?
As the election official of the county, the Clerk must be responsible for educating the electorate. We need a Clerk that is willing to engage with all people from all over the county and educate them on the electoral process. Currently, while some programs may be in place, I do not believe we go nearly far enough when it comes to engaging with the public. A strong voter outreach program is crucial for a healthy, vibrant democracy. I want to bring the people of Kane County into the political process by continually expanding voter participation over the next 4 years and the challenge will be developing a political culture in Kane County where voting and getting involved is exciting.
