POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

Kane County Board District (17)

1. Why are you seeking this position?

Last year all County departments were told they will reduce their operating budget by 3.6 %. The County Board then passed the “Austerity” Budget for 2018. Why an across the board cut, well it’s politically effort less, easy to sell the public, but diverts attention from mismanagement and inefficiencies. The Chairman wanted to reduce his growing deficit for his re-election bid in 2020. Instead of praising elected officials who stay within or reduce their budget across the board cuts was designed to protect elected officials that mismanage their budget.

I run to ensure our tax dollars are used for the benefit and protection of Kane County residents.

2. What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I have successfully managed my family budget since I left my parent’s home. I have had a career in Finance. I managed the Collections of Insurance premiums and dispute resolution of Fortune 500 companies and other state governments for a worldwide Insurance Company. I have earned a certificate in Supervision at Elgin Community College. I have been the Treasurer for the Elgin Township Democrats since 2006.

3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

Longmeadow Toll Bridge is a dangerous precedent. The Residents don’t want it and Kane County can’t afford it. The county will borrow somewhere in the neighborhood of $30 million. The tolls revenues will repay the loan and fund FUTURE maintenance of the road. What will be the toll amount and how long will it be in effect?

Illinoisans were told one time the freeway toll would retire as soon as the road was paid. Once Springfield found out it was a revenue stream, the tolls are permanent and will never retire. I aim to ensure an end date of the bridge toll revenue and that the county does not continue down this path.

Will you attend the 3/7 Elgin candidate forum? Yes, I will attend the forum
