NAME: Jennifer Zordani

POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

US Congress District (6)

1. Why are you seeking this position?

I’m running to fight for policies that serve working families, seniors, veterans, and the future of our children and grandchildren.
As Congresswoman, I will fight to:
– Fix Healthcare: improve the Affordable Care Act, enhance Veterans care, and lower prescription drug costs.
– Pass a responsible federal budget while protecting Social Security & Medicare.
– Reform higher education by improving federal college loans and grants.
– Restore SALT deductions to allow property tax deductions.
– Pass comprehensive immigration reform including the Dream Act.

The people of IL 6 want and deserve representation that is 100% focused on them. I’ll be honored to serve on their behalf.

2. What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I’ve been a regulatory attorney for more than 20 years. I have served as the President of an education non-profit for public school children. I also have served as a visiting law professor, teaching U.S. securities law in Eastern Europe. I have the grit and policy breadth to go toe-to-toe with Peter Roskam.
Socially progressive yet fiscally moderate, I can win the appeal of moderates, progressives, centrists, and undecideds in our “toss-up” congressional district.
I am a strong, new voice ready to fight for fiscally responsible government that serves people. I have the passion to fight for solutions to entrenched problems, and the capabilities to get things done in Washington.

3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

My greatest challenge: Dismantling political gridlock in Washington. Voters of all political stripes are frustrated with the failures in Washington. Fortunately, voters see in me someone who is not an establishment politician, an office-chaser, or part of the political elite, but someone who is keenly interested in getting things done in Washington. I will seek bipartisan opportunities when they exist.

Will you attend the 3/6 Dundee candidate forum? Yes, I will attend the forum
