Kane County Sheriff

1.  Why are you seeking this position?

As I took the oath of Office in 1992 it has always been my desire to impact my community in meaningful and tangible manner. I have continued to develop my knowledge and skill set to serve my community in the law enforcement profession. I desire to improve the quality of life for all citizens in our community.
Everything I have done throughout my career was to prepare myself for such an opportunity.

2.  What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

Prior to working for Kane County, I worked for Illinois Department of Correction. I am a twenty‐six year veteran of the Kane County Sheriff. I worked in corrections for two years and then began a career in the public safety division of the Sheriff Office for 24 years. I have successive rank promotions and collateral duty assignments. I have work in various areas within the Sheriff Office which makes me a well‐rounded candidate. I have a master degree with a concentration in Leadership. I possess the academic and practical experience to function as the Sheriff of Kane County. As the next sheriff of Kane County, I will implement authentic leadership, I will utilize change models, I will model expected behavior and utilize hybrid team

3.  What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

The biggest challenge for the next sheriff is educating the county board on the necessity of properly funding the sheriff office budget so all lawful mandates are accomplished, the safety of the staff and inmates are a priority.
