NAME: Jarett Sanchez
POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:
Kane County Board District 24
1. Why are you seeking this position?
I want to be a real voice for the people. I want to use my unique skills and perspectives to encourage trust in government while empowering the community.
- What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?
I’ve had experience working on or with various groups and boards for years. I understand that this job is often more about understanding people than it is about party affiliation. I’ve learned a lot about human interactions in group formats from my mother, an expert union negotiator. Some of my favorite books are those written by success gurus and entrepreneurs, and what I learn from them will bring me a long way in this position.
3. What will be your greatest challenge if elected?
Establishing myself as a serious representative and not a simple opposition candidate. The Board knows me from my work with the anti-Longmeadow groups, but I have no intentions of coming on and being an oppositional member. This job is about much more than a transportation project, and the first couple months will be me getting the Board to see that I understand this. I want to make my district proud!
