NAME: Nancy Farrell

POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

Village of Gilberts Trustee

1.  Why are you seeking this position?

I was honored to be elected for 2 terms as village trustee. I am seeking my third term. In the years that I have served the Village of Gilberts, I have always made decisions on what serves the residents best. Gilberts has become a fiscally responsible village. In the past 8 years, we went from over spending to having a 3 month reserve fund. We created a road repair plan, took over the running of the water treatment plant, created capital replacement plan, also personally worked with staff to create our Gilberts Community Days. As a member of the board we created an atmosphere of caring for all residents. I hope the residents of the the village will vote to have me continue being a trustee for the village.

2.  What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

Before I ran for office and before I retired I was a Property Manager. I managed multi-million dollar properties. I didn’t have experience in government management nor do most candidates running for offices in the towns or villages they live in. I am running for my third term. I hope the residents who have followed me thru these years will allow my to continue.

3.  What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

We have to grow our industrial/commercial businesses. The tax revenue from these areas will flow into the village with no burden to the residents.

Release for publication? YES
