POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

Elgin Township Trustee

1.  Why are you seeking this position?

Provide strong leadership in administration of programs and partnerships with area Mental Health, Senior & Youth service organizations. In my past years of service, I have been a leader in developing strong relationships with providers of key services to our citizens in need. I have been a volunteer in our community for over 35 years through my church and civic organizations like Rotary Club of Elgin. During these years og service, I have developed a backround unmatched by any other seeking this position, to provide leadership in many matters.

2.  What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I have an unsurpassed broad base of deep rooted community invovement and proven leadership.
I have served as Chairman of the Board of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce. I am presently serving as Trustee for SMART Local #265 Pension & Welfare board overseeing over $500 million dollars of assetts. I am presently Chairman of the City of Elgin Building Commission. I am past Chairman and currant Commissioner of City of Elgin Property Appeals Board. I have served as Deacon, Treasurer & Chairman of the Trustees of the First Baptist Church of Elgin. I am a Trustee for SMART local #265 Education fund. I served as volunteer Little League coach in Elgin Classic Little League.

3.  What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

Providing needed funding to Elgin Township partners (Mental Health, Senior & Youth Organizations) so they can provide needed services in our community. Due to the reduction and sometimes elimination of State & Federal funding from many, if not all of our local Mental Health, Senion and Youth servies agencies, it has become more difficult to fun all of the needs.
