POSITION FOR WHICH YOU ARE A CANDIDATE:

Rutland Township Trustee

1.  Why are you seeking this position?

In my short time as serving as a Rutland Township Trustee, I have become aware of many issues and practices that need to be improved or upgraded. My goal is to fairly represent our community in the township, while encouraging transparency and unity on the Board. In addition, I would like to look into various ways we could improve the Township’s service to the community. In addition to some training I have already received, I feel it’s important to keep abreast of all the government laws and changes that concern our township, thus i am willing to continue my education concerning this.

2.  What experience and background do you have which qualifies you for this position?

I was past President for the South Elgin Jaycees and the South Elgin Lions’ Club. Some of my accomplishments included: Christmas for Kids, the Jayteens, Bingo/Raffle Chairman, Lion of the year. Some awards received included A JCI Senatorship, Illinois Family of the Year and the prestigious Melvin Jones Fellow Award. I also served the Village for 10 years as a Commissioner for South Elgin Emergency Management Agency and was a founding member on the Parks and Recreation Board, and was responsible for creating the “Adopt a Park program”. Since moving to Pingree Grove I have graduated the P.G. Police Academy Class, attended Pingree Grove Board meetings and currently serve on the Rutland Township Board as Trustee.

3.  What will be your greatest challenge if elected?

Trying to find low or no cost programs that will benefit the Township that will enhance our services to the people we serve.
