Vote!
Some great insight into the war on voting from The Rachel Maddow Show via League of Women Voters of the US:

In the article, Rebekah Dryden says:

..there is a plan out there that aims to make the popular vote count, for everyone, all at once. Eight states and the District of Columbia have agreed to the National Popular Vote compact. It’s a state-based plan designed to make sure the majority of electoral votes go to the candidate who wins the popular vote nationwide. Once enough states have signed on so that, together, they account for the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency, they’ll give their electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote, regardless of who wins each state. (Here’s how the plan works.)

At the 2010 national convention, the League of Women Voters of the United States voted to support the National Popular Vote bill as one way to achieve the direct election of the president as it will guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most votes in all 50 states and D.C. + making EVERY VOTE EQUAL. Direct election of the president has been the goal of the League of Women Voters since 1970.
